    Consumer Willingness to Pay of Organic Rice and The Factors which Affected in Pontianak

    Organic rice is claimed as one of staples food alternative choice. Consuming organic rice is not only about fulfilling the quality needs but also a part of life style. Organic rice is also available in many modern retails in Pontianak so that it is affordable enough to be consumed by Pontianak’s residents. The aims of study were to analyze Willingness To Pay (WTP) of consumers with Contingent Valuation Method (CVM) and find factors affected consumers WTP value of organic rice . Primary data were collected during March to April 2016 and analyzed by multiple regression. The samples of Pontianak’s residents were used as respondents. The result showed that willingness to pay rate of organic rice in Pontianak was low. The age, price of organic rice, ergonomic packaging, respondent expenditure in month, and non-organic rice price affected WTP  with marked positive, while marital status factor had negative marked

    Analysis of Soybean Availability in Indonesia

    This study aimed to determine the factors affected the soybean availability in Indonesia. This study used secondary data obtained from FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization), World Bank, and the Ministry of Finance. In this study, the data from 1964 to 2013 used to determine the factors affected soybean availability in Indonesia . The Error Correction Model (ECM) was used to determine the factors affected soybean availability. The results showed that (1) the data were stationary at first difference; (2) the data used co-integrated means long-term parameters; (3) ECT coefficient was 0.846 (significant at α = 5%) indicated the model used was valid. Soybean availability in Indonesia in the short term was positively influenced by the total planted area, total soybean consumption, and soybean import tariffs. In the long term, soybean availability in Indonesia was positively influenced by the total planted area, productivity of soybean, domestic soybean prices, soybean consumption, and rupiah exchange rate to dollar. In the long-term, availability of soybeans was negatively affected by the price of imported soybean

    The Impact of GAP-SOP on The Production and Technical Efficiency of Garlic in Temanggung Regency

    Temanggung regency is the largest garlic producer region in Central Java Province. However, its productivity is still low compared to the other regencies since garlic farmers have not achieved technical efficiency and limitary garlic farming technology.  Hence, it is necessary to investigate whether the input application in the process of garlic production has been at technically efficient level or not. This research aims to determine factors affecting garlic production, the level of technical efficiency and technical inefficiency of garlic farming in Temanggung Regency. The location of the research was determined by using purposive sampling. The sample selection used simple random sampling method with  60 garlic farmers as the respondent. The result shows that production factors such as land area, garlic seed, ZK fertilizer, pesticide and the level of application of garlic GAP-SOP have significant effect on garlic production. The average value of farmer’s technical efficiency is 0,811. It means that respondents in this study have been technically efficient. The socio-economic factors affecting technical inefficiency are the age, the number of worker in a family, the level of education and participation rate within farmer group. The improvement effort of technical efficiency of garlic farming can be done by optimizing the contribution of farmer group as a facility to access information. Therefore, it is able to improve the skills and knowledge of farmers to farm garlic

    Melinjo chip is one of the typical foods in Yogyakarta made of melinjo nuts. The production center of melinjo chip is located in Banguntapan and Pajangan Sub Districts, Bantul District. The purpose of this study is to determine the efficiency of the supply chain measured with transportation model analysis. The number of respondents in this research was 50 producers of melinjo chip in Bantul District, taken by simple random sampling method. While the snawball sampling method was used to get 5 (five) collector traders, 5 (five) large traders and 26 (twenty six) melinjo chip retailers that taken by following melinjo chip sales distribution from the producer to Market of Piyungan, Demangan, Kotagede, Sentul, Beringharjo, Bantul, Legi, and Magelang. The supply chain actors of melinjo chip are melinjo farmers, melinjo chip producers, collecting traders, large traders, retailers, consumers, packaging producers, production workers, haulers, and firewood providers. The analysis of transportation model with minimum cost illustrates that Wirokerten Village from Banguntapan Sub District allocate the production of melinjo chip to Market of Beringharjo and Piyungan, while Potorono Village allocates the to Market of Demangan. Sendangsari and Triwidadi Village from Pajangan Sub District allocate the production of melinjo chip to Market of Beringharjo, while Guwosari Village allocates to Market of Beringharjo, Bantul, and Legi

    The objectives of this research are: (1) to investigate the trend of paddy fields on Timor Islandand (2) to know the determinants of the conversion of paddy fields on Timor Island. TimorIsland consists of several districts such as Kupang District, South Central Timor District(TTS), North Central Timor District (TTU), Belu District and Kupang City. In fact, theyare the main rice-producing areas in the Timor Island, so they have an important role in thesupplying sufficient for locals. However, the regions are slowly started to be converted tonon-paddy-field use such as new settlements and other infrastructure development along withthe current economic development. The basic method used in this research was descriptiveanalysis and the location of research was determined purposively because this locationwas based on the consideration that there was a high growth of non-agricultural sectors inTimor Island; making it vulnerable to the reduction of paddy field area. The data used wassecondary data (2005-2014). The results showed that (1) the trend of rice field in Timor Islandis not significant with time variable.     The Study of Leading Subsector and Leading Commodities of Agricultural in Anambas Islands Regency, Riau Islands Province

    Indonesian government is currently implementing regional development emphasizing on the characteristic and potential strength of each region. This program will be more optimal if conducted based on the introduction of the leading potential along with its use by maintaining the environmental sustainability. This research is aimed to (1) identify the basis/leading and non-basis/non-leading of agricultural sub-sector and its commodities; (2) to classify the pattern of sub-sector growth and agricultural commodities. The data used was time series consisting of secondary data from Anambas Islands Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) in accordance with the basic constant price in 2010 and the production value data of agricultural commodity during 2010-2015. The data analysis by Location Quotient (LQ) and Typology Klassen method. The analysis result shows that the sub-sectors of food crops, plantation, and fishery are the basis sub-sector (LQ > 1). The commodities of wetland paddy, sweet potato, mustard, water spinach, spinach, pineapple, banana, coconut, clove, cow (cattle) and kampong chicken are the basic commodities (LQ > 1). According to the analysis of Klassen Typology, the sub-sectors of food crops and plantation crops are included in leading and fast-growing classification (rik  > riand Yik> Yi), while the commodities of wetland paddy, sweet potato, mustard, spinach, and coconut are included in the leading and fast-growing commodities

    Analysis of Rice Price Trend and Vertical Integration of Rice Market in Indonesia

    The aims of this study were (1) to determine the trend of retail rice price in Indonesia and the price of grain at the farmer level in Indonesia and (2) to identify the vertical integration of the rice market in Indonesia. The monthly data of retail rice price and the price of grain at the farmer level (price of harvested dried grain at the farmer level) in Indonesia during January 2008 - January 2016 were used in this study. The least squares method was applied to determine the trend of prices, while Co-integration Model of Engle-Granger and ECM was used to estimate the vertical integration of Indonesian rice market. The results indicated that both types of prices had an upward trend. In the analysis of the vertical integration of rice market in Indonesia, there was a long-term balance relationship and short-term equilibrium relationship

    This study aims to: (1) acknowledge the application level of the individual factor and work environment to the employee of the coconut shell briquette small business in Bangunharjo Village, Bantul Regency, (2) acknowledge the performance level of the employee of the coconut shell briquette small business in Bangunharjo Village, Bantul Regency, (3) acknowledge the effectiveness of the individual factor and work environment toward the employee’s performance of the coconut shell briquette small business in Bangunharjo Village, Bantul Regency. The location and the sample of the research are determined in purpose based on the certain consideration and criteria through a case study. The method used in this study comprises of two independent variables and one dependent variable. The number of respondent taken are 31 people consisting of business owner and employee. The questionnaire technique being used is questionnaire with likert scale measurement 1-5 from attitude strongly disagree to strongly agree, assisted Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS) program version 24 in order to obtain the descriptive data analysis, the correlation of person product moment, and double linear regression with 5% significancy range. The result of the analysis reveals: (1) the level of application of individual factors and the work environment for employees are in a good category; (2) the measurement through the employee's performance is good; (3) Individual factor and work environment both have a significant positive effect on employee's performance, this is proven by the discovery of adjusted R squared value that is 0.727 on the determination coefficient

    Agriculture Category Advantages and Economic Structures in The Region of West Nusa Tenggara Province

    This research aims to identify [1] the highest agricultural category contribution in the West Nusa Tenggara province; [2] basic or non-basic category in current and future; [3] economic structure changes in the agricultural category; [4] classifying agricultural category. This research by a descriptive method. The data analysis by Location Quotient, Dynamic Location Quotient, Shift-Share and Klassen Typology. The results with the highest contribution to the West Nusa Tenggara GRDP is the agriculture category of 23.5%. The highest contribution of an agricultural category to the agricultural category GRDP in West Nusa Tenggara is a Bima Regency of 46.8%. Based on LQ analysis, forestry and logging categories by 2.41% and fisheries category by 1.16% are categorized as a base, and the agriculture category* (agriculture, farming, hunting and agricultural services) is non-base categories of 0.96%. Based on the DLQ analysis, there is a repositioning structure in agriculture category* that Originally non-base 0.96% to a base 1.00%, as for forestry and logging categories and fishery categories remain base. Based on the shift-share analysis, all categories are positive values, the highest category is agriculture category* 1,528,544,064,778.96 (million) influenced by provincial economic growth, industry mix and the influence of competitive advantage. Based on the Klassen Typology analysis, there are two classifications of agriculture category that is the prime classifi cation (forestry and logging category and fishery category) and potential classifi cation (agriculture category*)
